UNDERSTANDING THE DUI EVALUATION PROCESS
Cloudgate Healthcare follows a structured and supportive process designed to help clients meet legal obligations:

1. Initial Contact and Scheduling
Clients contact Cloudgate Healthcare to ask questions or schedule an intake. Daytime, evening, and weekend appointments are available. Intakes can be done in person or online

2. Evaluation Appointment
A comprehensive DUI evaluation is completed, either online or in-person. During the session, the evaluator reviews arrest history, sworn reports, a driving abstract, and the individual's alcohol/drug history. We also gather other clinical information to determine the most appropriate risk classification.

3. Risk Classification and Required Intervention
Based on evaluation findings, a risk classification is assigned:

-
Minimum Risk: No prior offenses, BAC below .15, no substance use symptoms. This level requires 10-hour DUI Risk Education

-
Moderate Risk: No prior offenses, BAC of .15 to .19 or BAC test refusal, or one symptom of a substance use disorder. This level requires 10-hour DUI Risk Education and 12-hour Early Intervention

-
Significant Risk: One prior DUI, of BAC of .20 or greater, or two to three symptoms of substance use disorder. This level requires 10-hour DUI Risk Education, 20-hours Group Treatment, and continuing care

-
High Risk: Multiple DUIs or dispositions, or four or more symptoms of a substance use disorder. This level requires 75 hours of Group Treatment and Continuing Care

4. Service Delivery

Clients begin the appropriate intervention based on classification. This can include risk education, early intervention services, outpatient treatment, or a combination of services. The recommended intervention varies depending on risk classification. All intervention services are available in a secure online setting with evening and weekend sessions available.

5. Documentation and Completion
Once services are completed, Cloudgate Healthcare provides the client with their documentation. This may include the drug/alcohol evaluation, treatment documents, DUI risk education certificate, and continuing care reports. In the case a response to denial is needed, we also review progress in treatment and address any outstanding denial order from the Secretary of State. Documents are delivered in the proper format for review by the court or the Illinois Secretary of State.

Note: The term "intervention" in this context refers to the court- or Secretary of State-mandated educational or treatment services—not a family or friend-led intervention.
